Web Accessibility

Telono provides courses in web accessibility for project managers, website developers and designers.
We also train the visually impaired so that they can evaluate websites following the WCAG guidelines.
We also teach the process of Web Accessibility certification.

We offer three levels of Accessibility Training:

  • Level 1: Understanding Web Accessibility
  • Level 2: Testing the Accessibility of a Website
  • Level 3: Expert in Web Accessibility – “Access for All”

Level 1: Understanding Web Accessibility (half day)

  • Definition of web accessibility (W3C)
  • Why is accessibility important
  • The different disabilities and the assistive technologies available and in use
  • Demonstration of website use by a blind person
  • Introduction to the certification process

Level 2: Testing the Accessibility of a Website (1 day)

  • Review of the guidelines from WCAG 2.0
  • The different tools available on the web for testing web accessibility
  • The “Access for All” criteria checklist for accessibility
  • Reviewing each criteria and the tool that can diagnosis accessibility
  • Concrete examples and practical exercises
  • Designing with accessibility in mind: the design process and accessibility

Level 3: Expert in Web Accessibility – “Access for All” (1.5 days)

  • Process of certification
  • How to distill and present the results of an accessibility evaluation
  • Concrete examples
  • Putting accessibility into practice
  • User testing and the handicapped test participant
